About WSCA
The Wisconsin School Counselor Association exists to meet the needs of professional school counselors. WSCA’s membership is comprised of elementary, middle, high school, and post-secondary school counselors, both practicing and retired. There are also auxiliary members who have an interest in the profession.
WSCA’s membership of 1200+ represents well over 50% of the professional school counselors in Wisconsin. Focused on providing quality professional development opportunities, supporting comprehensive school counseling programs, and giving one voice to professional school counselors, WSCA is dedicated to empowering school counselors throughout the state.

WSCA’s Mission
The mission of WSCA is to advance the profession of school counseling in preschool through post-secondary in order to maximize the academic performance, career planning, and personal/social growth of every student.
WSCA’s Primary Goals
- Promote professional development of school counselors and graduate students in training.
- Promote partnerships and collaboration with stakeholders and educational professionals to benefit school counselors and students.
- Give direction to issues of concern to school counselors and promote and advocate for the profession of school counseling.
- Promote legislative agendas on a state and federal level that positively impact school counselors in Wisconsin.
- Promote the practice of on-going research and evaluation of the school counseling profession in Wisconsin and the WSCA organization.
